Our study conducted with Prof. Koji Nagata from the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Tokyo on the SIRT1 activation by *PURESIRTMAX™ was published in Communications Biology, a sister magazine of Nature.
*PURESIRTMAX™ is a research reagent with increased purity of 3,5,7,3’,4’-Pentamethoxyflavone, the standardized compound in Tokiwa’s black turmeric extract, SIRTMAX®.
Tokiwa Phytochemical Co., Ltd. and Prof. Koji Nagata from the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Tokyo conducted a research on a compound deriving from black turmeric (Kaempferia parviflora), 3,5,7,3’,4’-Pentamethoxyflavone (abbr. KPMF-8, product name: PURESIRTMAX™), and confirmed its direct activation of SIRT1, a product of a gene associated with longevity. PURESIRTMAX™ activates SIRT1 approx. 6 times more effectively than resveratrol, and it does by accessing SIRT1 directly through penetrating the cell membrane, according to the study.
This finding suggests that SIRT1 can be activated through consuming a food-derived compound, which brings us the potentiality of supporting longevity with good health.
