New triterpene glycoside compound and natural sweetener containing the compound

A licorice-derived novel triterpene glycoside compound, a licorice extract containing novel triterpene glycoside compounds, and the uses thereof are provided.
This invention provides; (1) triterpene glycoside compounds, or natural sweetener containing pharmacologically acceptable trace of its salt, (2) extract containing 0.1~20% of triterpene glycoside compounds and natural sweetener containing the extract, and (3) these natural sweetener containing licorice extracts can be used in food, pharmaceutical, quasi-drug, cosmetic, and toiletry products, as food additives, and for nonessential personal use.
